This month we decided to take a look at how income plays a role in the special features that Gen X households (ages 35-50) likely have in their cars. The chart below lists the top three features that households within each income tier in this generation are likely to have in their vehicles.

Gen X Likely Car Types

We also decided to look at the highest indexing car types for Gen X households by income tier:

  • Low Income: Coupe (2-door sedan)
  • Moderate Income: Truck (4 door)
  • High Income: Van/Minivan
  • Elite Income: SUV
